Portland: Labor Day Celebration at Oaks Park (Oaks Amusement Park, 7805 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland)

The Northwest Oregon Labor Council (NOLC)'s Labor Day celebration is back at Oaks Amusement Park. OSEA has reserved admission for a limited number of members and family. Members may request up to four entry bracelets (no more than two entry+ride bracelets). These will go to the first members to register, and we expect them to go quickly!

You must be a registered guest of OSEA to attend this event. You will not be admitted to Oaks Park if you do not register and receive a confirmation email.

For the 2026 - 2027 Contract year BSD will contribute a cap of (starting 7/1/26) $2131 

Any Employee who wishes to have some help - can schedule a meeting with American Fidelity for support or attend BSD Benefits Online meetings.

ALL Employees who sign up for an FSA or HSA will be contacted by American Fidelity to have a touch base to ensure employees understands the FSA or HSA that they signed up for and understand what is needed to manage those kinds of accounts.

We are joining our labor siblings for a rally, march and community event at the Capitol in Salem on Friday, May 1 at 11 a.m.

The march will begin at 1 p.m. followed by cultural performances beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Celebrated as International Workers' Day around the world, May Day honors the work and sacrifice of labor advocates who won us the labor standards and workplace protections we have today. May 1 as International Workers' Day grew out of the fight for the now-standard eight hour workday and five day workweek, instead of 10-16 hour workdays six days a week. Our predecessors fought for many things we take for granted today – sick leave, benefits, child labor protections – all won by workers standing together, united by a hope for a better future. In these times, when our union solidarity is threatened by federal decisions and attacks from outside groups,

May Day reminds us of how much workers can achieve when we stand together. We've come a long way, but we have further to go.
